Experiential Education

The best way for a law student to be ready to practice law upon graduation is to practice lawyering skills and values while in law school. Many law schools, however, leave the practical component of education to chance.

At CharlotteLaw, the practical preparation of lawyers is critical. We strive to produce graduates with a level of demonstrated proficiency in 10 areas of knowledge, skills, and values:

  • Intellectual and Analytical Reasoning
  • Problem-Solving and Solution Design
  • Written and Oral Communication
  • Information and Community Technology
  • Negotiation
  • Practice Management
  • Professional Relations
  • Professional Ethics
  • Leadership in Social Responsibility
  • Self-Reflection and Lifelong Learning.

Learning by doing or experiential learning is a philosophy infused throughout the CharlotteLaw curriculum. We emphasize analytical legal reasoning, skills development, and professional and ethical considerations across the curriculum, offering opportunities for “learning in context” that range from practice-based simulations to real world practice experiences under the supervision of an experienced attorney.

CharlotteLaw has several types of courses and programs that provide our students with real world law-related experience:
