Community Partnerships

CharlotteLaw takes seriously its responsibility and role in the Charlotte community, and throughout the state. Our “practice-ready” mission and commitment to community service is advanced by our many partnerships with both the legal profession and the general population. Some of those partnerships include:

Mecklenburg County Bar
Every Charlotte practitioner is required to be a member. CharlotteLaw has a close working relationship with this legal organization.

North Carolina Bar Association
NCBA has over 12,000 members statewide. NCBA’s Charlotte Office is located in our law school, providing CharlotteLaw students access to all NCBA Continuing Legal Education (CLE) materials, and the opportunity to attend (free of charge) the CLE courses held at the CharlotteLaw. Additionally, all CharlotteLaw students get a free student NCBA membership.

The Mecklenburg Law Library
The library is housed at CharlotteLaw. Solo practitioners and law firms will be eligible for library memberships. As a result, the Charlotte area legal community will be actively involved with our library program.

Law Firms & the Judiciary
CharlotteLaw is developing close partnerships with Charlotte law firms and will roll-out a mentoring program linking students to members of the legal profession. In addition, the school is forging close links with all levels of the judiciary, led by Judge Shirley Fulton and retired Chief Justice Burley Mitchell, both of whom serve on the school’s Board of Advisors.

Business and Civic Communities
The school holds active membership in a number of organizations, including the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and North Carolina Chamber. Individual members of the CharlotteLaw team are active in many civic groups such as the Rotary, the Charlotte Diversity Council and in numerous non-profit organizations.
