Membership
Charlotte School of Law’s library membership program is open to judges, solo attorneys, law firms, legal departments, and freelance paralegals. The law school’s normal business hours are 8am – 5pm, Mon – Fri. Library members, however, enjoy extended hours of access. Those hours are:
7:30am - 11pm, Mon. - Fri.
9am - 10pm, Sat.
9am - 11pm, Sun.
To use the library during normal business hours, members must use the main entrance to the building and register at the front desk. A receptionist will be on duty during these hours. Members will be asked to present (1) proof of membership (i.e., a business card that will be checked against the membership list) and (2) a photo ID. Upon presenting a photo ID, members will receive visitor badges, which must be returned at the conclusion of the library visit. Members who misplace a visitor badge will be charged a $15 replacement fee.
To use the library outside normal business hours (i.e., after 5pm on weekdays or anytime on weekends), members must first call the library circulation desk at 704-971-8574. The library employee who answers the phone will then alert the CharlotteLaw security staff, who will facilitate the members’ entrance to the library.
