About the Library
The mission of the Charlotte School of Law library is to meet the legal information needs of CharlotteLaw students, faculty, and staff. Our collection supports the practice-ready curriculum of CharlotteLaw. Attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals may use the library through our membership program. The library is also open to the general public.
The library is located at 2145 Suttle Avenue on the second floor. Visitors to the library must register at the receptionist desk on the 1st floor. View a map of the library.
CharlotteLaw has the largest and most comprehensive legal collection in the Charlotte metropolitan area. That collection includes:
- United States statutes, regulations and case law (decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court, the circuit courts of appeal, and U.S. district courts).
- Case law and statutes of all 50 states.
- An extensive collection of North Carolina and South Carolina digests, encyclopedias, practice guides, and many continuing legal education material.s
- Major treatises in banking and finance, commercial law, constitutional law, education law, intellectual property, corporate and securities, civil and criminal procedure, administrative law, e-commerce, international law, and many other practice areas.
- U.S. Congressional materials dating back to the 1700s (available electronically).
- Over 800 full text law journals online.
- Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other major databases.
- U.S., N.C., and S.C. historical collections on microfiche.
- Resources for LSAT and bar exam preparation, as well as academic and professional success.
